Windows 7 RC review
OS Used:
Windows 7 64Bit
Hardware Used:
Intel E5200 @2.5GHz
4GB DDR2 800MHz RAM Corsair
Gigabyte G31 ES2L motherboard
500GB SATA Harddisk Segate
Sony DVD/CD RW
Microsoft's Newest Operating system, windows 7
has come into its final stages of development.
I will review their Release candidate version for you.
Pros:
1) Installs without any problems
2) Activation takes only a few seconds
3) Faster and more flexible than Vista
4) GUI is almost same as Vista, Aero felt a bit smoother and overall better
5) Automatic Graphic card driver updates. Now you don't need to do it yourself every time new drivers are released. Windows does it for you.
6) The media centre is very good.
7) Could install Avast without any issues.
8) Internet explorer 8 is great.
9) Can run virtual XP.
Cons:
1) High RAM usage.
2) Chrome runs a bit slow
3) Too much for current netbooks.
Windows 7 is a very good OS and works fine even on old hardware(3-4 years old)
The OS looks good and is fast too. It does use up RAM pretty quickly, but since 4GB of RAM is almost a standard now, I don't see that as a major issue.
Virtual XP will help those who use programs that are incompatible with windows 7.
Over all its a great OS, Try the RC if you can. I will leave you with some screenshots of the OS.

Accurate review. I have an aging 2-year-old high-end Lenovo T61p with 4GB RAM and a new Lenovo 256GB SSD. Booting my downgraded XP on a 7200RPM SATA drive with many, many apps took 5 minutes until the hourglass stopped appearing. I now boot up under Windows 7 RC in under 1 minute and shut down is almost immediate. I've never experienced an easier OS change and this isn't even the final release.
